OFFICIAL RULES

ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. EVERY LIGHT MATTERS SWEEPSTAKES (“Sweepstakes”) is open only to legal residents of Canada, who (a) have reached the age of majority in the province or territory of residence, and (b) have online access as of 12:00:01 AM (ET) on March 17, 2008. Officers, directors, employees and agents of General Electric Company, General Electric Canada (“Sponsor”), and GEM Group, Inc. (“Administrator”) (collectively the “Released Parties”), as well as their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, sponsors, marketing and promotion partners, retailers, vendors and advertising and promotional agencies, and any members of the immediate families (defined as spouse, parent, sibling or child, regardless of where they live) and persons living in the same household (whether related or not), of any of the foregoing are ineligible. Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 AM (ET) on March 17, 2008 and ends at 11:59:59 PM (ET) on May 31, 2008 (“Promotion Period”).

HOW TO ENTER: Between 12:00:01 AM (ET) on March 17, 2008 and 11:59:59 PM (ET) on May 31, 2008 you may enter the Sweepstakes by visiting www.ge-everylightmatters.com (the “Sweepstakes Website”). Entrants may choose to play the EVERY LIGHT MATTERS Game (the “Game”) on the Sweepstakes Website, or may select the “skip” button to proceed directly to the entry page. Playing the Game is not required to gain an Entry and will not affect your chances of winning. If choosing to play the Game, a Flash Plug-in is required. If you do not already have it you may install a current version when prompted. Installation is free. Entrants must complete the registration page in its entirety before entering the Sweepstakes. Entrants must click on the “submit” button located on the entry page to complete the entry process (“Entry”). Limit one (1) Entry per person and per e-mail address per day. A day is defined as starting at 12:00:01 AM (ET) and ending at 11:59:59 PM (ET). In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an online Entry, the Entry will be deemed to be submitted by the natural person in whose name the e mail address is registered or assigned. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.

PRIZES: ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: An Energy Saving Prize Pack which consists of the following: (a) $1,700 in cash towards a year’s home energy costs (awarded in the form of a cheque in Canadian dollars) (According to FortisBC, the average family in Canada spends up to $1,700 a year on energy bills); and a $5,000 GE Appliance credit to be used towards purchasing Energy Star® Qualified GE Appliance(s). Appliance(s) may include one or a combination of the following, up to a maximum of $5,000: a GE Profile Stainless Steel Refrigerator; a GE front load washer and dryer set; a GE Monogram dishwasher. Prize options and specifications are subject to change, and will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion based on availability, and the winner’s home capacity and power source available. Sales taxes, delivery, and installation are included. Maintenance is the sole responsibility of the winner. (Approximate Total Retail Value (“ARV”): $6,700). TWO (2) FIRST PRIZES: A Year of Energy Savings, consisting of $1,700 in cash towards a year’s home energy costs (awarded in the form of a cheque in Canadian dollars) (ARV: $1,700 each). Prizes are not transferable, must be accepted as awarded, and cannot be exchanged or substituted, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion who reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater monetary value. Stated prize amounts are fixed, and will not vary depending upon the winner’s actual energy costs. Limit one (1) prize will be awarded to any person and per household.

WINNER SELECTION: A random draw will be conducted on our about June 7, 2008 at approximately 1:00 PM (ET) at the Administrator’s offices (33 W. 19h Street, 4th Floor, New York City, New York, U.S.A) from all eligible Entries received during the entire Promotion Period to select the eligible entrants (“Potential Prize Winners”). In order to be declared a winner, the Potential Prize Winners must have correctly answered the mathematical skill-testing question on the Sweepstakes Website without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise. The Administrator’s decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Odds of winning a prize are dependent upon total number of eligible Entries received.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential Prize Winners will be notified by telephone on or about June 14, 2008. Before being declared a winner, Potential Prize Winners will be required to sign and return a Declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (“Release”), to be received by Sponsor by the deadline specified in the documents. Inability of Sponsor or Administrator to reach the Potential Prize Winner within 5 business days of the first attempted contact, failure to return the Release within the time specified, to correctly answer the skill-testing question, or non-compliance with these Rules may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate Potential Prize Winners, in the sole discretion of the Administrator. Prizes will only be delivered to verified winners.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: Subject to obtaining approval from the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux with respect to the province of Quebec, Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or modify this Sweepstakes at any time without notice if any factor interferes with its conduct as contemplated by these Rules. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes subject to the approval of the Régie in Quebec in the event that it becomes infected by a computer virus, worm, or trojan horse, is subject to a denial of service attack, or is otherwise technically impaired. By entering, entrants agree: (1) to release and hold harmless Released Parties from liability, loss, injury or damage arising out of their participation in the Sweepstakes and with respect to their acceptance and use/misuse of any prize; (2) to be bound by the Rules; (3) that the decisions of the Administrator are final and binding on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes; (4) to be contacted by the Sponsor and/or Administrator via telephone, or courier regarding the Sweepstakes if selected as a Potential Winner; and (5) to the use by Sponsor and its designees of their names, addresses (city/province/territory) and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes in any and all media worldwide in perpetuity without additional compensation, notification or permission. All applicable federal, provincial/territorial and local laws and regulations apply. Released Parties are not responsible for computer, technical, mechanical, production, human, or other resulting in printing or typographical errors. Released Parties are not responsible for malfunctions of electronic equipment, computer hardware, software, malfunctions of the entrant’s email provider, incorrect email addresses, lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected Entries. Released Parties are not responsible for problems downloading Entries from the Sweepstakes Website or for any other technical problems related to website Entries.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: By entering, entrants consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information by the Sponsor, the Administrator and/or their authorized agents for the purposes of administering this Sweepstakes, fulfilling prizes, and posting the names and addresses (city/province) of winners on the Sweepstakes Website. All personal information collected as a part of this Sweepstakes will be managed in accordance with the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, which can be accessed at http://www.ge.com/privacy.html.

QUEBEC RESIDENTS: For residents of the Province the Quebec, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Regie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
